Our aim
Training brings future
Introduction Overview
Due to the increasing population in West Africa, a greater percentage of youth are underprivileged. Therefore these youth have fewer chances to achieve good standards of living such as good education and social positions. These disadvantage youth are mostly school drop outs. Since there is no one to help, sponsor their education, they become premature parents and raise their own children in poverty. Some of them take risky means of migrating overseas to seek greener pastures to alleviate poverty in their families. Hence they are detained and deported and face harsh conditions as a result of illegal immigration. Some are subjected to slavery overseas including sexual slavery on the part of women. In extreme conditions they are kidnap in order to harvest their vital organs. Owing to the bad social conditions these disadvantage youth are exposed to, we decided to set up an NGO called ‘Training Aid West Africa’. It is to be setup in Ghana due the prevalence of disadvantage youth there. We intend to expand it later to other parts of West Africa and Africa at large. The organisation is an NGO which intends to provide a complete free tuition including accommodation and feeding with no commercial interest.
Objectives
- To give disadvantage youth a German standard of technical training in both theory and practical perspectives. This covers plumbing, electricals, welding and building construction.
- To build strong relationship with organisations that shares our aims thereby further increasing the capacity of youth to enhance their skills and aptitude for their own growth and long term success and development of their community.
- To empower underprivileged youth to have equal opportunities as their counterparts in other parts of worlds.
Vision
- We seek to break the cycle of deprivation of greater percentage of the youth in West Africa and the continent at large by providing them with requisite technical skills.
- To better the lives of disadvantage and impoverish youth and raise them to equal standards of career opportunities in the country and the world at large.
Mission
To equip the underprivilege youth with technical skills thereby enhancing their personal growth and to be gainfully employed.
Values
We cherish and value the lives, needs and challenges of every youth regardless of ethnicity, religion or gender. Every youth is entitled to have better chance of profitable career opportunities.
Challenges
We may have financial challenges to run the NGO to the maximum capacity from its inception. However, we could have donations from companies and philanthropic individuals from Germany as major source of funds. These companies are willing to sign a commitment contract to avert future financial challenges.
We started the initiative to encourage young people to build a decent life in their homeland. Thus, prospects of permanent residence are opened-up for those people.
In this way, we are doing nothing less than combating migration and causes of flight in sustainable ways.
Few people leave their home, their families, their friends of their own free will; they are usually forced to do so, since they do not see any perspective at all for themselves.
The training offensive allows young people to build a better future in their homeland.
Those who would like to build a personal relationship with the young people can also adopt a sponsorship for financial assistance.
